Students undertaking the Transition Year Programme will undertake an intensive curriculum over the course of the academic year. This will include a 'hands on' approach in many areas. It is a vibrant and creative programme offering our students an opportunity to grow, develop and mature and prepares them to be 'future-ready.' The creative and physical aspects of the programme give students the chance to explore and develop skills outside the academic, whilst our SPHE/RE, extra curricular and social placement activities also let students engage with social issues, both local and global.
Current subjects are listed below. Core subjects are studied by students for the full academic year; modules are studied for one class per week on a rotating basis, so all modules are complete by the end of the year; option subjects are studied for two classes per week on a rotating basis, so all modules are complete by the end of the year (with the exception of French, Art, Business, and Music, where students choose which subject to study for the year on their respective option lines).
