Transition Year
Year Head: Ms Barton
It is my pleasure to welcome the Transition Year group of 2026/27. I am truly honoured to be your Year Head this year.
A special welcome as well to our Erasmus students joining us at Ballinteer CS — we hope you feel at home here and enjoy all that this year has to offer.
Transition Year is a unique opportunity to embrace new experiences, build friendships, boost your confidence, and develop valuable skills.
Throughout the year, you’ll discover how your learning connects to the real world through work placements, trips, projects, competitions, leadership programmes, and workshops.
I look forward to supporting you as you step outside your comfort zone, try new things, and grow in confidence and maturity.
Remember our motto: “Pay the dividends, reap the rewards”.
This is your year — make the most of every opportunity. The more you put into Transition Year, the more you will gain from it.
Always strive to do your best, stay positive, and treat others with respect.
If parents or guardians need to get in touch, please feel free to contact me at Niamh.barton@ballinteercs.ie . I am here to help in any way I can.
Wishing you all a fun and fantastic year ahead!
