So much maths around the school this Maths Week. Students were challenged to figure out the maths related words that are missing their vowels! Can you work them out? Three 6th Years (Paula, Molly and Alex) were the winners of the initial prizes!
What’s maths without some puzzles and mazes. We had a BIG maze puzzle in front of the main entrance during the week. Lunchtime allowed for some recreational problem-solving. There were some smaller puzzles in class time too.
The 2nd Years insisted on playing Countdown. No complaints from Mr Beglan! Jodie proved to be the quickest solver of us all!
The 1st Years were experimenting with symmetry. Lots of patterns and colours!
The good ole reliable Estimation Jar returned. 741 Skittles in a jar and the closest estimation wins a prize (not the jar of skittles – they are all Mr Beglan's!). Guesses ranged from 190 to 1065! Better guesses next time folks.
You can’t have a Maths Week without a Maths Quiz! 1st and 2nd Years had some good hearted rivalry.
Lastly, Ms Corish and Mr Beglan invited students to get involved in a Maths Photography Competition. There were 77 entries from across all year groups. Fantastic enthusiasm and entries. The winning entry will be announced in the coming days.
