Education Guidance And Counselling
Welcome to Guidance & Counselling section of the website!
The School has two Guidance Counsellors - Mariana Clifford and Bill Core.
Guidance Counsellors are professionally trained educators who have a specialised role in the school setting. The focus of their work is on meeting students individually.
We are trained mediators of information and our primary role is to support the individual student in educational, vocational and personal development.
This means that we provides a place and time in which a young person can explore and think about issues of concern, is enabled to set goals, to make mature decisions and will be supported in dealing with the outcomes of those decisions.
Students can make an appointment with the Guidance Department at any time.
Students bring a variety of different issues. These include:
We provide a confidential service while taking into account the needs of the student and the wider student body. We accept referrals from colleagues on the school staff and parents are welcome to contact us confidentially.
If you have concerns about your child or believe that your child is a worried person, please feel free to make contact with a member of the Guidance team for advice.
The Guidance Counsellors has a comprehensive list of referral supports if preferred or if it is necessary for a student to avail of external professional support.
We look forward to working with you.
